For
some, New South Wales is that area outside Sydney, filling up the
map but not actually a place to visit. About the only place most
people know about are the Blue Mountains,
and few outside Australia would place them in New South Wales. Actually,
few would probably place Sydney in New South Wales. But it is a
place, with a lot to do and see. From opal mines in the far west,
south to Lake Mungo, the earliest record on man's activity in the
southern Hemisphere, and one of the earliest records of modern man
anywhere in the world, to the surf and sun of Byron Bay and the
northern coast, New South Wales has a lot to offer. It also has
the highest mountain in Australia, and some great snow skiing. So
take some time, and look around.
